Ladies and Gentlemen,

It is an honor and privilege to address you all today. Good morning and thank you for joining us at this momentous occasion as we gather here at Daystar University to mark the groundbreaking ceremony for the David Musau Mumama Learning Complex here at the Athiriver Main Campus. My name is Mr. Joseph Rono, and I have the honor of serving as the Group Executive Director of the largest pension fund in Kenya (CPF Financial Services). It is indeed a pleasure to be here today for the benefit of this esteemed institution.

Ladies and gentlemen, CPF Financial Services Limited is the leading Pension Administrator with a growing fund of over USD 1.3 Billion in assets under management. We are dedicated to fulfilling lives and safeguarding the financial future of our members. With a track record of prudent investments and a commitment to the welfare of pensioners, we strive to make impactful contributions to our nation's growth and development.

In addition to pension administration, CPF Group prides itself in provision of other services through the various subsidiaries which include fund management (CPF Asset Managers), property and real estate related consultancy services (LASER), ICT and renewable energy solutions (LITES), Insurance brokerage (LIB), Management Consulting and Training, Trust Fund Administration and Agency Services. It is our shared vision for a brighter, more prosperous Kenya, underpinned by education and financial security, that brings us here today.

I would like to take a moment to appreciate the significant progress Daystar University has made in its journey towards academic excellence. The institution has consistently demonstrated a commitment to its students' welfare, academic growth, and character development. As we stand here to celebrate the construction of David Musau Mumama Learning Complex, we recognize that this facility will contribute to enhancing the university experience and the overall quality of education at Daystar.

Now, let me address the potential areas of collaboration and partnerships that could benefit both Daystar University and our pension fund. Strategically located and positioned as a key Academic HUB of Kenya, Daystar University stands as a beacon of emerging academic Excellence, with a pulsating heart of innovation, growth, and resilience.

Student Financial Literacy Programs: We can collaborate to develop programs aimed at improving students' financial literacy. Financial education is a critical life skill, and by sharing our expertise, we can help students make informed decisions about their financial future. This can be achieved through creating E-learning platforms for daystar students.

Through our CPF Foundation, we could work together to establish scholarship and bursary programs that support deserving students in their pursuit of higher education. These initiatives can be designed to assist students who may face financial constraints and help them realize their academic potential.

Investment Opportunities: Our CPF pension fund manages substantial assets, and we are keen on exploring responsible and sustainable investment opportunities in various sectors. Daystar University, as an educational institution, may offer compelling projects or ventures in which we can invest, thereby fostering mutual growth. We can collaborate on opportunities in CPF- Daystar smart classes.

Internship and Mentorship Programs: We can collaborate to establish internship programs for Daystar students within our organization. This would provide valuable practical experience and exposure, paving the way for a smoother transition into the job market.

Community Development Initiatives: Our collaboration can extend to community development projects in areas surrounding the university. Together, we can make a lasting impact by addressing societal issues and enhancing the well-being of the local community.

Ladies and gentlemen, As the CPF Group, our essence revolves around a single, profound commitment: to fulfill lives, and it is at this point where I request the council and university to consider CPF Group as the Scheme administrator for pension Funds of daystar university employees.

Collaboration between our pension fund and Daystar University has the potential to create a positive ripple effect, benefiting not only the institution and its students but also the wider Kenyan society. It is a testament to our shared commitment to education, growth, and prosperity.
